• February 2 - Noggin premieres as a joint-venture between Nickelodeon and Children's Television Workshop
• March 1 - Nick GAS debuts.
• March 13- All That makes it's 100th episode with a live special.
• May 1- SpongeBob SquarePants, Nickelodeon's most popular show ever, it debuted after the Kids' Choice Awards.
• September 11- After 11 years on Nickelodeon, Looney Tunes airs for the last time, it is the longest running non-Nicktoon animated show on Nick.
• September 30 - After 7 years on Nickelodeon, Muppet Babies airs for the last time, it is the only animated Jim Henson show on Nick it later moved to Jim Henson's Odyssey Network.
