"Doug Can't Dance" is the pilot episode of Doug, later aired as the first segment of the show's second episode in production order (though it and its partner episode, "Doug Gets Busted", were mistakenly aired first).
Synopsis[]
Doug is excited about going to his first school costume dance, and having the opportunity to dance with his dream girl, Patti, but Doug's excitement soon fades when Roger reminds him that he has no dancing talent, so Doug goes to Skeeter for dancing tips.

- This episode was ranked #74 in The 100 Greatest Nicktoon Episodes countdown, and was also the only Doug episode to make it into the countdown.
- This is the first episode where Skeeter uses his famous "Honk-honk!" noise.
- Notable differences between this pilot and the series proper:
- Roger's prototype gang had a blue skinned Willy as a screwdriver, a blue haired Ned as a screw and a Boomer with eyeglasses as a saw.
- Roger's voice was louder and higher.
- Doug refers to his journal as a diary.
