James David Maslow (born July 16, 1990) is an American actor, singer, and dancer. He is best known for playing the role of James Diamond on Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush and is a member of the boy band of the same name.
The success of the show has led to worldwide tours with appearances and sometimes performances on various talkshows and involvement with Nickelodeon-held events and causes, including as a contestant on celebrity episodes of the network's game show BrainSurge, and participation in the Worldwide Day of Play and appearances and performances at the 2010 and 2011 Kids' Choice Awards.
Before landing the role, he appeared as Shane in the iCarly episode "iSaw Him First", which premiered mere months before BTR.
