Melissa Joan Catherine Hart (born April 18, 1976) is an American actress, writer, television director, television producer, singer and businesswoman. Hart is perhaps best known for her title roles in the television series Clarissa Explains It All (1991–1994) and the live action version of Sabrina the Teenage Witch (1996–2003), and Melissa & Joey (2010–present).

On Clarissa, she played Clarissa Darling, the main character. As one of Nickelodeon's earliest stars, that role led her to appearances on other Nickelodeon shows and involvement in the show's merchandise. This includes recording songs for the album Clarissa and the Straightjackets: This is What "Na Na" Means.

Her appearances include as herself on Nick Arcade in the season two premiere with her Clarissa castmates, as Daphne in the Are You Afraid of the Dark? episode "The Tale of the Frozen Ghost", and again as herself in the Weinerville Election Special. She also appeared as herself in the All That 100th episode special in a "Good Burger" sketch.

She was nominated six times for Favorite Television Actress at the Kids' Choice Awards for her work on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch from 1998-2003 and won in 1998. In 2000, she also was nominated for Favorite Movie Actress for her role as Nicole Maris in Drive Me Crazy.
