The Snorch and Zimbo are the Aaahh!!! Real Monsters working as the Monster Academy's disciplinarians. They are the Gromble's thugs who punish his troublemaking monster students. The Snorch acts as a warden while Zimbo, a one-legged bee, often patrols for him.

The Snorch[]
He is a huge and terrifying beast that keeps even the scariest monsters on their best behavior at the Monster Academy. His constant companion and mouthpiece is the much less intimidating Zimbo, who flies around in the sewers and reports any trouble he sees directly to anyone in charge. Some of the punishments that The Snorch has handed out include square dancing and listening to human music, mainly soprano (opera).
Zimbo[]
He is the only monster who can understand the Snorch's words. He looks like a bee and can fly. Zimbo doesn't treat any of the students at the Monster Academy nicely, but he is nice to Gromble (the teacher). He often spreads rumors, showing he's more of a trouble maker than a helper. He may even be more of a bully than others see the Snorch as, as he takes joy in seeing others in torment. In the episode "I Heard the Snorch Call My Name", he grew very jealous when Snorch wanted to befriend Oblina and took great joy at the idea that without the voice box, Oblina wouldn't be his friend. Zimbo was voiced by Tim Curry.
